THE PRESS - A SELECTION

“This film wants to show why the thirst for power and money is considered one of the biggest deathly sin of our time. The greed for profit of multinational Agro- chemical companies has an influence on almost every field and every farmer. Chemicals and poisoning substances used by Genetic Engineering have not only an effect on agricultural environments but also on nature and on our health. Bertram Verhaag shows in his Documentary, which has already won important prices, through strong, impressing Pictures, which show the reality for what it is, how easy it is to work with nature, not against it; it shows a form of agriculture which is more widespread, than what one could think. That makes ‘Code of survival’ a really worthy of attention film, which must be seen by anybody, who is willing to see and act."

(ehp)“What I saw impressed me strongly and profoundly.  It is with no doubt a ‘Code of Survival’. The Title is what it promises. It is a Film, which could not have been made better. A work has been made, which will be able to wake people up.”

(George Johannes Miller)

“I cannot say, when my interest for the origin of the food, we bring on our tables, exactly began. But every change in our life starts by realising a problem. I have been for years a big Bertram Verhaag´s Films fan. They give strength to our capacity of reflecting on the world that surrounds us and give us courage and hope that a change will come.”

(Sarah Wiener)

“In this Film Bertram Verhaag wanted to warn people of the effects that genetic Engineering has on our Agriculture and to make people hope. One third of the film focuses on the greed of genetic Engineering. Two-thirds portrait people, who want to reach a positive change. Optimisms is good for us, said a person from the public (…) With this Film Verhaag wants to denounce the madness of genetic Engineering and to compare this system with successful alternative agricultures.”

(Süddeutsche Zeitung, Blanche Mamer)

“Three sustainable, achievable and trend setting agricultural projects in Inda, Egypt and Germany are highlighted as alternatives to the health and environmental destruction caused by pesticides used in the USA and elsewhere. With a personal and impactful narrative, tight editing and striking cinematography.”
